The weather at take-off was cloudy with temperatures in the upper 70’s.  As always at this host site, Birch Lakes Resort had coffee and pastries for the competitors.

Twenty Seven teams competed in this final qualifying event, in the Bear’s Series.  They weighed-in 96 Bass weighing a total of 214.09 pounds.  Winning honors went to the team of Mike Landt and Chad Schutts with 15.18 pounds.  This weight was good for $550.00 plus they had the Big Bass of the tournament, weighing 4.82 pounds.  Big Bass was worth $270.00, for a grand total of $820.00.

This being the last qualifying tournament in the Bear’s Series for 2006, congratulations go out to all the teams who earned at least 300 points and thereby secured a berth at the Wisconsin Bass Classic-2006, in Minocqua, WI.  These anglers will compete for a purse of $17,000 at Classic-2006.

Congratulations to the team of Dennis Rhead and Chad Maves for winning the “Top Team-2006.” title.  Dennis and Chad will fish for free in the Bear’s Series in 2007.

Big Chetac Standings

Birch Lakes Resort is a great place to spend on weekend on Birch and Chetac lakes. They have a very nice outdoor pool and a brand new Tiki Bar. They also have very nice docks for you to pull your boats up to worry free.
