The
competitors were greeted at Birch Lakes
Resort, our host site, with plenty of coffee
and pastries. The tournament started out
with on and off rain for the first 4 hours
of the tournament. For the last 4 hours it
turned sunny, windy and highs in the
mid-80’s.
Thirty two
teams weighed 115 Bass for a total weight of
255.68 pounds. One half the 32 teams
brought in a tournament limit of 5 Bass.
The weigh-in held a certain air of suspense
because it was rumored the 32nd
team that would weigh in had a “monster”
bag. One-by-one the teams weighed their
fish, with some pretty respectable weights.
Finally it came to the 32nd team,
Dale Lundeen and John Amhrien, to weigh
their fish. They had a bass they wanted
weighed for Big Bass. The first fish they
turned in was a 5.61# giant. This fish
anchored their tournament winning weight of
15.72 pounds and earned them a total check
of $1620.

Congratulations to the teams that earned a
total of at least 300 points after this
tournament. They have become eligible to
compete in the 2006-Wisconsin Bass Classic
at Minocqua, in September. There will be
approximately $17,000 paid at the 2006
Wisconsin Bass Classic, making it one of the
highest paybacks ever made for a Bass
tournament in Wisconsin. Those teams with
at least 200 total points as of now, need
only compete in the next 2 tournaments to
achieve a total of 300 points.
Our next tournament in this
Series is August 5, 2006 at Lake
Wapogasset. This tournament is presented by
Larsen Auto Centers and Doc Watson

pool and a brand new Tiki Bar. They
also have very nice docks for you to
pull your boats up to worry free. |
