A beautiful morning
greeted the competitors when the arrived at
our host site, Birch Lakes Resort. Things
would change dramatically by the weighin
time of 3:00, when the rains began and
lasted about 5 hours. The coming of this
front must have turned the Bass on. The
full field of 41 teams brought 171 Bass to
the scale weighing an impressive total of
388.02 pounds. There were 29, 5-fish
tournament limits. First place honors went
to the husband and wife team of Jerry and
Debi Olson with a winning weight of 17.27
pounds. They also captured the largest Bass
of the tournament, a 5.04 pound bruiser.
First Place and Big Bass netted them $1160.
This is Jerry and Debi’s second year fishing
bass tournaments. This win assured them a
berth at the “Big Show”, the 2007 Wisconsin
Bass Classic, by simply showing up at the 4th
and final Bear’s tournament.
Check out all the
results of this tournament in the results
section of this website. The race for those
teams striving for a total of 300 points to
qualify for Wisconsin Bass Classic-2007, is
heating up.
The next Bear’s Series
tournament will be held on Chetek Chain of
Lakes. The host site will be Nothwoods Brew
Pub. The sponsors for this tournament are 1st
Bank and Trust, Menomonie and Dairy State
Bank, Rice Lake and Birchwood.

Birch
Lakes Resort is a great place to
spend on weekend on Birch and Chetac
lakes. They have a very nice outdoor
pool and a brand new Tiki Bar. They
also have very nice docks for you to
pull your boats up to worry free. |
