The weather was beautiful at the start of tournament, but turned into a scorcher by the 3:00 weighin, with temperatures in the mid-90’s.  This hot weather also added another factor to the competitor’s equation—pleasure boaters galore.  In spite the hot weather and boat traffic, the full field of 36 teams brought 143 bass, weighing a total of 311.39 pounds, to the scale.  Twenty five of the thirty six teams weighed in a tournament limit of 5 Bass.  Top Place honors went to the team of Robby Newhouse and Mike Anselmo with a winning weight of 14.39 pounds, which was worth $1500.  This was Robby and Mike’s second win of the season, out of 3 tournaments, and would have placed them high in the “Top Team” race, but they had a rough second tournament.
