It is
hard to believe this is the fourth and final
qualifying tournament for the Bear’s Series
in 2008. The whole tournament day was
picture perfect, with temperatures in the
low eighties, low humidity and calm winds.
The forty-eight teams in this Series, in
only the 3rd year of their
existence, set a new eleven-year WTC record
with 209 bass brought to the scales,
weighing a whopping 484.11 pounds.
Thirty-eight teams had a 5-fish limit. It
was a real “fish-fest.”
Congratulations to the father/son team of
Scott and Rick Wilhelm for taking 1st
place honors with a 5-fish limit weighing
16.81 pounds. This was worth $1000 for
their efforts. Big Bass honors went to the
team of Mark Rosencranz and Bob Turgeon with
a beauty weighing in at 4.73 pounds and
worth $470. Please check out all the
results of this tournament on this site.
The
staff at Birch Lakes Resort again did an
excellent job, which they have done for the
past eleven years, of greeting the
competitors and making them welcome with
coffee and pastries.
Congratulations to the team of Pat Schlapper
and Rob Yule for capturing “Top Team” honors
for the second year in a row. Each will
receive a St. Croix Avid Rod and will fish
for free in the Wisconsin Team Circuit
division of their choice in 2009.
Congratulations to the 35 teams who managed
to qualify for the Wisconsin Bass
Classic-2008, to be held beginning September
17th in Minocqua, Wisconsin.
Thank
you to our anglers, sponsors and hosts site
for making 2008 another success for
Wisconsin Team Circuit. See you in 2009.
