The day
started out cool, but calm. Air temperature
was upper 40’s. By the time 3:00 weighin
came along, the temperatures only rose to
the low 50’s, a light rain was coming down
and the winds were gusting to 40 miles per
hour.
Despite
the weather conditions, the 49 teams brought
in more fish than anticipated. One hundred
fifty eight bass were brought to the scales,
weighing a total of 380.66 pounds.
Seventeen teams brought in a tournament
limit of 5 bass. Pat Schlapper,
representing the team of Pat Schlapper and
Rob Yule, brought in 5 bass weighing 15.84
pounds. This first place showing was good
for $1000 in WTC payback, plus Pat owns a
Skeeter Boat, so he received another $1000
cash though the Skeeter Real Money Program.
Not bad for 8 hours of fishing. Big Bass
honors went to the 3rd place team
of Mike Oliver and Tim Fitzmaurice with a
4.77 pound largemouth. This bass was worth
$480, plus 3rd place WTC monies
of $500, plus Mike drives a Markquart
Chevrolet tow vehicle, 2003 Silverado, which
qualified him for the Markquart Chevrolet
Contingency money of $150 in cash. Total
winnings for this team was $1130 in cash.
Rounding out the top 3 was the 2nd
place team of Steve Gronski and Scott
Bachowski with a 15.59 pound bag worth $700
in WTC money. The 45th place
team of Mike Calkins and Scott Calkins
brought one bass to the scales. Scott’s tow
vehicle is a Markquart Chevrolet, 2006
Colorado, so he received $100 cash through
the Markquart Chevrolet Contingency Program
for his efforts.
