The teams were
greeted at 4:45AM with the great hospitality
Birch Lakes Resort has provided WTC for the
last 12 years. Bev had plenty of coffee and
more pastries than the guys and gals could
possibly eat.
The weather
was unstable. The sun would come out for a
few moments, then the clouds would roll in
and it would rain for a few minutes. It
alternated like this all day. Despite this
unstable weather, the 48 teams still brought
162 bass to the scale weighing a total of
358.04 pounds. Twenty three of the teams
managed a 5 fish limit. The weighing bag
was brought in by the team of Robert Flatten
and Ed Dye. There winning weight was 13.83
pounds and was worth $1200. Big bass of the
tournament was brought in by the 2nd
place team of Ron Welch and Gene Parker.
This 4.22 lunker was worth $450.
This
tournament did a lot to mix-up the
year-to-date points. Many teams needed the
finish they got at this tournament to keep
them in the running to qualify for Wisconsin
Bass Classic-2009.
Please take a
moment to review the total results of this
tournament and the year-to-date point
standing. The race for Top Team is going to
be a real “shoot-out”.
The final qualifying stop for
the East Division is August 15th at Long
Lake. Our host site is Props.
