We arrived
at Lake Holcombe to find snow on the ground
and a brisk 34 degrees. Great weather if
you were a polar bear. At weigh-in the
temperature jumped to 39 degrees.
Throughout the day there were at least 4
sleet showers.
Everyone was
wondering what this extreme cold front would
do to the fish. Three PM would answer the
question. The 30 teams competing brought 77
bass to the scale, weighing a total of
184.30 pounds. Ten teams brought in 5-fish
limits. Winning honors went to the team of
Tony Wick and Chad Larson, with a bag
weighing 16.22 pounds. They also had the
big bass weighing 5.63 pounds. Their total
winnings amounted to $1090. Second place
honors went to the team of Steve Crotteau
and Gregg Kizewski with 15.18 pounds. Third
place went to the team of Mike Mattis and
Barry Rettke with 13.55 pounds.
