Temperatures in the 60’s, with overcast skies, greeted the competitors when they arrived at Treeland’s Resort.  Skies remained overcast with a light breeze made for a picture-perfect fishing day.  Treeland’s Resort is an absolutely beautiful facility.  The logistics of the resort was excellent for checking boats, launching and parking.  At weigh-in, skies became sunny with temperatures in the upper 70’s.  The 38 teams brought an impressive 146 bass to the scales weighing a total of 340.62 pounds.  First Place honors went to the team of Matt Stefan and Jason Corrao, with a 5-fish bag weighing 18.47 pounds.  This was good for $1000.  In addition, they ride in a 2009 Skeeter I-Class so they will receive an additional $1000 in Skeeter Real Money for total winnings of $2000.  Second Place went to the team of Wayne Haglund and Bobbie Haglund with a 5-fish limit weighing 17.66 pounds.  This finish was worth $700.  The team of Dave Sedani and Ryan Sedani took Third Place with a bag weighing 17.47 pounds.  This earned them $500 for their efforts.  Big Bass, worth $370, went to the team of Chuck Richardson and Mike Richardson with a “horse”, named Vernon, weighing 5.37 pounds.

WTC sponsors, Buzz’s Bar&Grill and Gunderson’s Meats, both located in Mondovi, WI, provide a $50 gift certificate from each place to the first “Team out of the Money”.  That team must be present at the awards ceremony to receive the certificates.  If not present, it goes to the next team out of the money.  Winners of the $100 in certificates were Brad Hoyt and Brent Foresman.  Sand Creek Brewery also supplied 6-packs of their micro-brewery.  Eight lucky anglers won those.

Also, the race for Top Team is beginning to heat-up.  Top Teams in the Bill’s and Bear’s Series receives St. Croix Avid rods of their choice, plus the teams receive free entry into the qualifiers in their Series in 2011.

You can view all the results of the tournament in the results section of the Bill’s Series.

The Bill’s Series next tournament is on the Chetek Chain, on July 17th.  Our host site is Pokegama Inn.
