Wisconsin Bass Classic IX

Wisconsin Bass Classic-2010 will again be held in the beautiful Minocqua, Woodruff, Arbor Vitae area, on the Minocqua Chain of Lakes.  This will be our 9th year in the Minocqua area.  The “curse” of the Classic carries on.  In the previous 8 years, no team has won the Classic twice.  Maybe 2010 is the year the “curse” will end.

There are three changes in the Wisconsin Bass Classic for 2010.  First it has been moved up to earlier in September.  This should provide more stable weather and more of the unique businesses in the Minocqua Area will still be open.  This will provide more entertainment for the families that attend the Classic.  The dates for 2010 will September 7, 2010 thru September 11, 2010.  September 7th and September 8th will be official practice days for the Consolation Bracket lake.  September 8th will be the official practice for the Minocqua Chain.  September 9, 10 and 11 will be tournament days.

Here is the second change to the Classic.  All teams that attend will fish the Minocqua Chain on September 9th and 10th.  The top 15 teams in weight, after September 10th, will stay and fish the Championship Bracket on the Minocqua Chain.  Every team that makes the Top 15 will receive a check, providing they are in the side-pot.  First Place in this bracket will be $6000, Second Place will be $4000 and Third Place will be $2000.  Big Bass will be $1000.  These figures are based on the same contribution to the Classic Pot as in past years.  Fourth Place thru Fifteenth Place will be determined by the amount of money in the side-pot.  All other teams, not in the Top 15 but in the side pot, will fish the Consolation Bracket on a nearby lake.  This lake is yet to be determined.  First Place in this bracket is guaranteed $1000.  The amount paid to the other places will be determined by the amount of money in the side pot.  There will also be a $10 optional Big Bass pot in the Consolation Bracket.  All teams in the Consolation Bracket will begin with zero weight.

The third change for 2010 is two of our sponsors, Buzz’s Bar & Grill and Gunderson Foods, both of Mondovi, Wisconsin will be catering a cook-out for the competitors, their guests and sponsors.  The cook-out will be from 4:00PM-6:00PM on Wednesday, September 8.  The menu will consist of Charcoal Chicken, Pork Tenderloin, Creamed Baby Red Potatoes, Baked Beans, Coleslaw and rolls.  The refreshment will be Michelob Golden Draft Light.  The cook-out will be held at our host hotel, The Pointe Hotel and Suites.  This event is provided, at “no charge”, by Buzz’s and Gunderson’s.

There is no entry fee to fish in Wisconsin Bass Classic-2010.  All teams are eligible to make it to the Top 15 and fish for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and Big Bass.  All other monies are paid from the side pot.  The optional side pot is $150 per team, with a 100% payback.  There will also be a Calcutta Pot where teams can bid-on and own other teams.  Teams finishing in the Top 5 in the Championship Bracket and the team with the Big Bass, plus the Top 3 places in the Consolation Bracket will earn money for their owners.
